A fire outbreak on Monday evening at Ojuelegba Road, Dalemo Alakuko, Lagos, resulted in the destruction of numerous goods worth millions of naira and left one person injured. The fire started in a paint shop owned by Mrs. Fola Gorilla, who attributed it to a chemical reaction. The blaze spread rapidly, consuming adjacent shops and causing significant damage.
The Divisional Officer of So-Safe Corps, Adele Ramon Adisa, reported that the fire escalated quickly due to the presence of flammable chemicals, gas, and generators. The injured production manager was rushed to the hospital. Adisa also highlighted concerns about a new gas plant being constructed nearby, urging local governments to address safety issues to prevent future disasters.
Firefighters from Ile-Epo Oke-Odo, Lagos State, eventually brought the fire under control.
