Nollywood box office record-setter Funke Akindele has addressed her billionaire title following the misconception that trails her latest movie, A Tribe Called Judah, ATCJ, grossing over a billion naira at the box office.
Recall that Funke Akindele set a record for the Nigerian film industry as the first Nollywood film to enter a billion naira even in a short period.
Funke Akindele made over one billion naira at the box office, becoming the first Nigerian artiste to achieve such a feat.
Her movies, A Tribe Called Judah, Battle On Buka Street and Omo Ghetto The Saga are respectively the highest grossing Nollywood film of all time.
Shedding light on the misconceptions that she went home with the huge amount of money, the mother of two noted that she didn’t take the billions home.
She expressly told her fans that she is not a billionaire because the movie grossed a billion naira; however, she is a hustler who doesn’t relent in her work.
“Thanks dear. I’m not a billionaire! My movie A Tribe Called Judah grossed over a billion naira. But I didn’t take the billion home o!!! I be confirmed hustler.”
Funke Akindele’s statement is a response to a fan who wished to meet her in person and the misconception that she went home with billions of naira.
