On Sunday, August 11, a severe fire destroyed the LG office warehouse at Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos, causing substantial damage to goods and electronics valued in the millions of naira. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, noting that distress calls were received at around 12:15 a.m. The fire rapidly engulfed the facility, affecting equipment, forklifts, household goods, and electronics.

LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, reported that the fire department arrived at the scene around 12:40 a.m. and worked to control the blaze, with additional fire trucks deployed to assist. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but no fatalities or injuries have been reported. Efforts are ongoing, with the Nigerian Army and Police also involved in the response. All LG staff and emergency responders have been evacuated for safety.
