The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has attributed the current fuel price, supply and distribution challenges in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to issues with the discharge operations of several vessels.

According to Olufemi Soneye, the chief corporate communications officer of NNPC Ltd., these operational hitches have led to the observed scarcity and queues in some areas.

Soneye emphasized that NNPC Ltd. is actively addressing the situation, collaborating closely with stakeholders to expedite resolution and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels” Soneye said.

It was gathered fuel is currently sold at N900 per/litre while it settles for N1,200 at black market.
