Global music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that despite his immense success and wealth, his father’s fortune made him feel financially inadequate.
The Nigerian superstar shared this candid admission during an interview in Paris, where he attended Amiri’s Fall/Winter show at the 2025 Paris Fashion Week, held at Palais de Tokyo. Davido was spotted at the high-profile event alongside fellow artist Omah Lay.
In a snippet of the interview circulating on social media, Davido was asked if he had ever encountered anyone who made him feel broke despite his affluence. Without hesitation, he responded, “Yeah, my dad.”
The singer’s comment comes months after he disclosed in another interview that it took him years to fully grasp the extent of his father’s wealth.
Davido, regarded as one of Nigeria’s richest musicians, has built an empire through his chart-topping hits, global tours, and brand endorsements. However, his father, Adedeji Adeleke, a billionaire businessman and philanthropist, remains one of Nigeria’s most influential figures in the corporate world.
The revelation has sparked reactions online, with fans and followers reflecting on the contrasting realities of generational wealth and individual success.
