Protesters have blocked Kaduna Road, a key highway in Niger State linking Kaduna to Abuja, in anticipation of a larger 10-day nationwide protest set to begin in three days. The demonstrators, who were active today, voiced their frustration with the government by holding signs that read ‘We Are Not Slaves,’ ‘Enough is Enough,’ ‘Stop Anti-Masses Policies,’ ‘Hardship Is Unbearable,’ and ‘Fuel Subsidy Must Be Back.’ Their early action reflects their dissatisfaction with current economic conditions and government policies, especially the removal of petrol subsidies. The planned nationwide protests aim to address rising living costs and demand policy changes.
