The tragic incident involving 12-year-old Toyosi Ademola in Benin City has left her family devastated. Toyosi was fatally hit by a truck due to mechanical issues as she stood on the pavement after crossing the road from Uselu Market. Eyewitnesses described how the truck veered off course, leading to the fatal accident.

Toyosi’s mother, Ade, who was with her at the time, recounted the heartbreaking moment when the accident occurred. Toyosi, a Primary 5 pupil at Oba Ewuare Primary School, had been out with her mother to purchase supplies for their business when the tragedy struck.

Her father, Mr. Ademola, learned of the accident while he was at work and rushed to the scene. The driver of the truck is currently in police custody, and the family is coping with the immense grief of losing their daughter.

In their time of mourning, the Ademola family has appealed for assistance from the public and Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to support them with funeral arrangements and care for their other children. Their plea underscores the need for community support during such tragic events.
