President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to leave Abuja today for the United Kingdom, embarking on a two-week vacation that will double as a working retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
According to a statement from his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s return will follow the conclusion of this leave. During Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration, the President announced plans for a 30-day National Youth Conference aimed at engaging the youth in governance.
He emphasized the importance of involving the next generation in shaping policies that affect their lives, stating that the conference will address key issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice.
Tinubu affirmed his commitment to reforming Nigeria’s political economy and defense strategies to ensure the nation’s stability. He praised the resilience of the Nigerian people and expressed determination to combat banditry and terrorism, facilitating the return of displaced farmers to boost food production and tackle rising prices.
