Africa’s wealthiest individual, Mr. Aliko Dangote, clarified that the residence he uses in Nigeria’s capital is not his personal property. Speaking at a media briefing held at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, he emphasized his commitment to industrializing Nigeria as the reason he does not own homes outside the country. Dangote mentioned selling his London residence in 1996, stating it would have been a distraction from his focus on Nigerian industrialization. Apart from a house in Lagos, he mentioned owning properties in Kano, his home state, and renting one in Abuja.

In closing, Fatima Dangote, Group Executive Director, Commercial Operations, praised her father for his unwavering dedication to the Nigerian vision, describing him as exceptionally hardworking and expressing a wish for more leaders like him to improve the country’s prospects.
