In recent events, Olu Jacob’s wife Joke Silva, has stepped forward to address and debunk some prevailing misconceptions and allegations about older women and their sex life.
Her recent podcast appearance, alongside fellow seasoned Nollywood personalities, shed light on a range of personal and sensitive topics.
Joke, renowned for her association with Nollywood and her marriage to Olu Jacobs, expressed her opinion on comments people make about older women.
In the podcast, She tackled a notion about sexual libido in women, especially as they age. She recalled coming across an article that suggested older men often pursue younger women due to the perceived lower sexual libido of older women. Dismissing this claim as “a whole load of crap,” Silver emphasized that such generalizations are far from the truth.
Also recall that last year, she had publicly disclosed that her husband was battling dementia, a condition that has progressively worsened over time. This revelation had marked a significant and emotional moment for her, as she grappled with the reality of her husband’s declining health.
Silva in candid discussion with Chude, revealed the profound impact of her husband’s illness on their marriage. She confessed that coping with the changes in her husband has been anything but easy. The man she once knew is no longer present in the way he used to be. Yet, her love for him remains unwavering. She spoke about reaching a point of acceptance, recognizing the harsh reality of their situation.
Despite these challenges, Silver fondly reminisced about the days when Old Jacob was in good health. She praised him for being an “incredible father” to their children and an “amazing husband” to her. His contributions to their family life were highlighted as a testament to his character and the depth of their relationship.
Earlier this year, Silva celebrated her husband’s 81st birthday. The occasion was marked with a heartfelt prayer and a touching photo shared on social media. In her message, Silver expressed deep gratitude for his life, showering him with prayers and affection. This gesture resonated with Nollywood fans and well-wishers, who joined in to extend their birthday wishes to Old Jacob.
