Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Edo State governorship election, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the collation center in Benin City. Okpebholo received 291,667 votes, defeating Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes. Labour Party candidate Olumide Akpata finished third with 22,763 votes.
