Former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi has voiced strong frustration over Nigerians’ passive response to the ongoing economic crisis, particularly the rising cost of living.
In a recent interview with Igbere TV, he highlighted his own struggles to afford essentials like diesel due to escalating prices.
Amaechi criticized citizens for their inaction, stating, “People should be angry… I am really angry with the citizens because they are not doing anything.”
He urged Nigerian youth to take a stand and protest the high costs, expressing disappointment over their silence. He also condemned the timing of recent political campaigns in Edo State, questioning how politicians can campaign while citizens struggle to meet basic needs. His remarks underscore a growing concern among both citizens and political leaders regarding the state’s economic governance and the urgent need for accountability.
