The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has suspended biometric clearance and weekly Community Development Services (CDS) for corps members nationwide from August 1-10, 2024. This decision is in response to a planned protest during this period. The NYSC emphasized its policy against participation in protests and instructed corps members not to wear their uniforms this week. They assured that any pending activities would resume once the situation is clarified. The move follows President Bola Tinubu’s appeal to postpone the protest, urging citizens to give the government more time to address their concerns about economic hardships.
