The Federal Government has launched a program to sell 30,000 metric tonnes of subsidized milled rice at a reduced price of N40,000 per 50kg bag. The initiative, overseen by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, aims to ease food costs and ensure fair distribution amid current economic challenges. Buyers must present their National Identification Number (NIN) for verification to prevent fraud and multiple claims. The process involves electronic payment and receipt issuance, with designated collection points to manage distribution and avoid crowding. In Abuja, several sales points will be established to facilitate the process.
