The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has issued a statement advising its members against participating in the planned nationwide protest against President Bola Tinubu’s government. ECWA’s Public Relations Officer, Rev. Ibrahim Kassim, emphasized that the church is not supporting the protest and warned of the potential risks, citing past incidents where protests turned violent. He urged members to avoid involvement due to the potential for protests to be hijacked by miscreants and cause significant damage. The statement also reassured members that ECWA leadership is actively engaging with government officials to address citizens’ issues promptly.
“We are all aware that protests can take different dimensions as witnessed during the EndSARS protest when hoodlums infiltrated the protesters and wrecked serious havoc that led to the loss of many lives and properties.”
