Nigerians now have the choice between petrol at N1,000 per litre and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) at N200 per standard cubic meter, as announced by President Bola Tinubu.
This initiative aims to promote cleaner and more affordable energy, reducing reliance on petrol and cutting fuel costs for consumers. Tinubu emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering private sector investment in energy infrastructure to enhance economic growth.
“Nigeria’s motorists can buy petrol at N1,000 per litre or equivalent gas per Standard Cubic Meter at N200. We have also introduced incentives for commercial motorists to convert from petrol to gas” free of cost,” Bayo Onanuga, Presidential spokesman, quoted Tinubu to have said.
Additionally, incentives will be provided for commercial motorists to convert from petrol to CNG at no cost.
