Hajiya Dada, the mother of late Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, has passed away.

According to family sources, she died in Katsina on Monday at about 7pm.
Hajiya Dada was a figure of historical significance, known as the only woman in Nigeria to have given birth to a President, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, a former Vice President, Shehu Musa Yar’adua, a Minister, and a Governor.
Additionally, three of her granddaughters have held the prestigious title of First Lady, as wives of the former Governors of Katsina, Bauchi, and Kebbi States.
Funeral prayer will be conducted at the Yar’adua’s family house, Yar’adua area of Katsina metropolis by 1:30pm on Tuesday.

She was survived by children and grandchildren, among whom is the current Senator representing Katsina Central senatorial District, Abdulazeez Musa Yar’adua.
