Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been ordered by a U.S. Appellate Court to pay ₦4.2 billion (approximately $1.6 million) to Nigerian firm Zinni Media Concept Limited for breach of contract and fraud.

The ruling stems from a 2017 agreement that required Mayweather to make multiple appearances in Africa, including Nigeria, which he failed to honor.

After terminating the contract without justification and refusing to return the advance payment, Zinni Media took legal action in 2018.

The initial judgment included damages, prejudgment interest, attorney fees, and costs, totaling $1,638,542. Mayweather’s appeal was rejected by the California Court of Appeal on August 27, 2024.

Despite the court’s decision, Zinni Media reports that Mayweather has not yet complied with the payment, which continues to accrue interest at 10% per annum.

To enforce the judgment, U.S. attorneys have been instructed to target Mayweather’s assets, including a 2015 Bugatti Veyron and a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, both valued significantly higher than the judgment amount.

Zinni Media has expressed its commitment to enforcing the ruling and recovering the owed funds.
