Mrs. Gladys Ibrahim, a female trader, collapsed at the Abaji Main Market in Abaji Area Council of the FCT on Thursday after losing N275,000. According to DailyTrust, an eyewitness named Gambo reported that Mrs. Ibrahim experienced a severe shock when she reached into her handbag to pay for melons and discovered the money was missing.
Gambo explained that Mrs. Ibrahim, who travels from Auchi in Edo State every five market days to purchase large quantities of melon and groundnut, fainted from the distress. The incident caused considerable alarm among the market traders, who quickly took action by pouring water on her in an attempt to revive her.
