Renowned Nollywood actress Doris Simeon has opened up about the emotional struggles she faced during her custody battle with her ex-husband, Daniel Ademinokan, particularly after he relocated their young son to the United States without her consent.
In a candid interview on Biola Bayo’s “Talk to B” show, which was shared on YouTube on Friday, Simeon detailed the deep emotional toll the situation took on her, describing feelings of frustration and depression.

She recounted how her ex-husband moved their 4-year-old son to the U.S., cutting off communication and leaving her unable to connect with her child. “He was just 4 years old when he came to the US. He was 3 when I last mothered my child,” she said. Despite repeated attempts to contact Ademinokan, she revealed that he would often ignore her calls or give brief, dismissive responses.

Simeon acknowledged that both parties had their faults in the failed relationship but emphasized the pain of being denied the opportunity to be a mother to her son. “He took my son without my consent, and that’s the only painful part,” she expressed.

The actress also shared how she kept her emotional struggles hidden from the public, knowing that her family had taught her to remain strong in the face of adversity. “I was frustrated and depressed, but I can never show that,” she added.

The situation eventually led to a court case, after Simeon was confronted by someone at a movie premiere who pointed out that she wasn’t there to see her son.

Simeon’s emotional revelation sheds light on the painful reality of her personal life and the challenges she faced in her fight for maternal rights.
