A dark day has struck Nollywood, as actor and filmmaker Saidi Balogun is reportedly mourning the loss of his daughter, Zainab.
He took to Instagram to share a poignant photo of a candle surrounded by flowers, alongside heartbroken emojis and birds.
Fellow actress Allwell Ademola expressed her shock in a similar post, sharing a candlelight image and praying that the news is merely a nightmare. “I am speechless. I pray this is all a dream, Oh God! My Osenatu,” she wrote.
Many of Balogun’s followers shared their condolences in the comments. Adeniyi Johnson expressed his sympathies, stating, “My condolences, sir.” Kunle Afod added, “Take heart, my brother,” while Yomi Fash Lanso conveyed his support, saying, “Condolences to you and your entire family. May God console you and ease your pain.” Lois described her heartbreak, noting, “Zainab’s life was dedicated to making her dad proud. Rest in peace, Zeenat. You fought valiantly.” Mensah Olamide remembered her as “such an angel,” while Trust Mimi offered her condolences with, “So sorry, sir! Please accept my sympathies.” Adefemi Bilikis prayed, “May Almighty Allah forgive her and grant her Aljanat Fridaus.”
