Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), recently disclosed that a bread seller fraudulently mobilized for the NYSC by the University of Calabar did not actually attend the institution. This revelation comes amid the voiding of 101 additional certificates, raising the total to 178 invalidated certificates. Ahmed praised Professor Florence Obi, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, for her transparency in reporting the issue. He emphasized the NYSC’s commitment to thoroughly investigating and cleaning up its mobilization process, noting the problematic cases of individuals like the bread seller who were improperly included on graduation lists.
