The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests have now reached their fourth day, with demonstrators in Jos, Plateau State planning a Sunday service at the protest site to emphasize their dedication to the cause. The protests, which started on August 1, 2024, are focused on addressing Nigeria’s governance issues. The third day saw significant unrest, including the blocking of Yakubu Gowon Way near the Old Airport Junction by large crowds demanding change.

The protests have also fostered notable interfaith solidarity, with Christian protesters in Lagos and Osun states providing protection for Muslim demonstrators during Juma’at prayers. This cooperation highlights a collective spirit amidst ongoing challenges.

However, the protests have led to considerable repercussions: a report by the United Action Front of Civil Society on Friday stated that 21 people have died, 1,154 have been arrested, and 175 have been injured. The protests continue to attract significant attention as they call for substantial reforms and better governance in Nigeria.
