The Lagos State government has announced the launch of an on-street parking scheme, scheduled to begin in October, as reported by Peoples Gazette. According to a notice from the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) dated July 19 and signed by Ayokunle Akinrimisi, Head of Operations, the scheme will enforce hourly charges for vehicles parked on specified streets within the Lagos State metropolis. The notice, addressed to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), notifies churches of the new directive and cautions against indiscriminate parking.

“I am directed to inform your esteemed organization that LASPA will be implementing its on-street parking scheme on designated streets across Lagos State,” the notice states. “Vehicles parked on these streets by the church and its members will incur hourly charges, with enforcement against indiscriminate parking.”

LASPA emphasizes compliance with the directive, highlighting its importance for law-abiding organizations. However, specific details regarding the parking fees were not disclosed in the notice.
