Nollywood actress, Shola Kosoko has shared her two cents on her stance about divorces.
The Yoruba actress, in an interview with her colleague, Biola Bayo, took a stance on divorce, especially when it affects one’s life. She noted how when a woman is in a critical situation, she gets advice from different angles, but it is left for her to pick one.
Using a popular Yoruba adage, she stated that women should be able to decide on their own while adding that no marriage is worth one’s life.
“I would say that advice will come from different angles and advice will vary. There is a Yoruba adage that says ‘If someone faces you, you should face them too”. It simply means you can take A advice, take B advice but when it comes to a point, you should be able to decide”.
Shola Kosoko, the daughter of Jide Kosoko, has been married for over 10 years to Abiodun Abinna and has three children – two girls and a boy.

According to her, she has experienced a lot of things that have made her not believe in marriage anymore, and not even her parents’ sweet marital life can make her change her mind.
Though not disclosing further about the experiences she has had, she stated that she believes in love and is in a committed relationship with a man but it wouldn’t lead to marriage.
Similarly, with the high rate of divorce cases piling up daily, Dayo Amusa shared her thoughts on marriage and what it entails, noting how many believe marriage will cure their loneliness, which leads to unrealistic expectations.
She emphasized that marriage isn’t for everyone as it is a massive commitment and shouldn’t be rushed into. The movie star preached on the need to love oneself as one can’t give to another what they don’t have.

In a tweet, he emphasized that some women wrongly put marriage before everything else, even before their relationship with God, their own well-being, and the welfare of their future children. He stressed the importance of personal happiness, stating that a woman needs to find joy in her single life before she can be truly happy in a marriage.
