The battle between rival cult groups is gradually escalating in parts of Lagos as two people were killed over supremacy battle over the weekend.
The bloody clash, which took place in the Ojo area of the state, was said to be between members of Eiye and Aye. According to report, an Aye member was killed in the Alaba International area of Ojo, allegedly by members of Eiye.
The report also revealed that in Ecowas Road, Ojo, Lagos State, an alleged member of Eiye, named Sodiq, was killed by members of Aye in retaliation.
The renewed battle is consistent with killings of rival members and targeted at individuals standing to obstruct them even as the police find it difficult to adequately curtail it, thereby, leading to disorder and fear in various communities.
Recall that a former General Secretary of (KIWADA) Obadore Community Development Association (CDA), one Finnian Uche Festus Bernard, had disappear from his community after an attack on him by cultists twice in 2016 and 2017, leaving him with stab wounds and broken tooth with the police not being able to arrest any of the culprits.
